Future of Humanity

We are living in turbulent times. (No need to detail the list of complex challenges.) We'll focus on one complex challenge that is a game-changer. Most importantly, Corporations across public and private service and industry sectors can prepare for this complex challenge, to secure their future viability.
I’ve collated some expert perspectives about near future impacts of Generative AI (GAI). Attention will shift from technology to humans (people who form your corporate culture) who can strategically harness the benefits of GAI and mitigate risks.
Bill Gates has spoken about the impact of GAI and its future impact on humanity. Gates, among others, believe that within 10 years, rapid advances in GAI will render humans redundant “for most things” in life.
There is an ongoing debate about how GAI will impact humanity and whether it will be more positive than negative. There is agreement however that GAI will have a huge destabilizing impact on people working in large Corporations down to small businesses and it will significantly change daily life.
Mustafa Suleyman (CEO, Microsoft AI) predicts that most jobs across service and industry sectors will be impacted. Consider this warning about GAI’s impact from his book, The Coming Wave (2023):
“They will make us smarter and more efficient for a time, and will unlock enormous amounts of economic growth, but they are fundamentally labor replacing.”
Gartner, a globally recognized research and advisory firm, released GAI predictions for 2025 onward to help Corporations weigh risks and benefits. Areas of risk include privacy, operational issues, enterprise breaches and flattening of management structures when GAI assumes critical management problem solving and decision making.
This prediction is unsettling:
“… 40% of large enterprises will deploy AI to manipulate and measure employee mood and behaviours, all in the name of profit.”
Reading further, Deepak Seth’s analysis of GAI behavioural technologies (e.g. sentiment analysis) reveals that the aim is to maintain a “motivated and engaged workforce” where employee behaviours align with organizational values. The downside is loss of employee autonomy, privacy and constant monitoring that may induce worker stress and dissatisfaction.
The Gartner report concluded with sage advice to reexamine “assumptions and priorities about strategies, tactics and innovation across the board.” This necessitates a careful watch to assess whether a “prediction is trending toward truth or away from it”.
The benefits of GAI are exhilarating, with the ability to fast-track scientific discovery and reveal novel opportunities for major innovation. GAI use cases (specific situations where it can be applied) are anticipated to span public and private service and industry sectors. This will have widespread impact on the work roles humans perform.
GAI is major innovation, it is a paradigm shift that is impacting mindsets (how people think), how products will be developed and services will be provided, and what work roles will remain for humans. Take a moment to envision the future - for yourself, your children and grandchildren.
Cinder to Flame helps Corporations solve complex challenges with strategic services that energize people, fuel a healthy corporate culture and ignite major innovation.
Cinder to Flame shifts the focus from technology back to humans and offers a novel solution to help your Corporation prepare for GAI’s tsunami of radical disruption. CEOs have identified the need to bolster corporate culture to prepare for GAI. Cinder to Flame’s strategic services help people build tolerance for change, disruption and ambiguity and strengthens employee well-being, resilience and creative thinking.
Now is the time for Corporations to align their employees for GAI when there is the opportunity to reinvent human work roles. A passive stance or delayed action can be disastrous - if people are displaced from the workforce - and it negatively impacts sustainable, quality living.
GAI is associated with significant benefits intermingled with risks that will change life as we know it. The title of this article: “future of humanity” sounds melodramatic. But shouldn’t people be given “equal” attention as we continue to integrate GAI into our work and daily lives?
Corporations who thrive through GAI disruption will begin preparing their people now and strengthen their corporate culture - this is the work of Cinder to Flame.
